Universal Genève was founded in 1894 as Universal Watch. The company has produced complete watches with in-house movements, and throughout the 20th century, distributed many important timepieces. The brand Universal Geneve is technically still in existence, being owned since 1989 by a Hong Kong investment group. Despite a brief relaunch in 2001, its marketing materials and website haven’t been updated for nearly 15 years.
