The Valjoux 7733 is a manually wound chronograph movement made by Valjoux (later absorbed into ETA), a renowned Swiss movement manufacturer. This movement is part of the Valjoux 7730 family and features a 17-jewel movement with a 40-hour power reserve. It’s known for its reliability, robustness, and ease of maintenance, which has made it popular among watch collectors.

The 39mm case size is a sweet spot by even today’s standards, it’s well-proportioned, offering a timeless aesthetic.

These watches feature a a clean, classic black dial with two sub-dials (at 3 and 9 o’clock) for tracking elapsed time in minutes and seconds. The splash of blue and red on the right hand sub dial is easy on the eye. This model also features the tachymeter scales on the bezel or outer rim of the dial, used for calculating speed based on time traveled.

The chronograph complication allows for the measurement of short time intervals, useful in various sports and aviation applications.
The two-pusher system (start/stop and reset) operates the chronograph, with the pusher at 2 o’clock to start/stop and the one at 4 o’clock for resetting.

The vintage appeal comes from the combination of a rugged tool-watch aesthetic and Swiss craftsmanship, offering both historical significance and practical use.
