This Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox is one of the most iconic and historically significant models produced by Jaeger-LeCoultre. Known for its alarm function, the Memovox (which means “voice of memory”) has been a favorite among watch enthusiasts and collectors since its introduction in the 1950s.

The Memovox was first introduced in 1950 and has seen several iterations over the decades. The most sought-after vintage models generally date from the 1950s to the 1970s.

The key feature of the Memovox is its mechanical alarm function, which was a novel complication when it was first introduced. This alarm can be used as a reminder for various daily tasks, which made it quite practical and appealing.

The earliest Memovox models featured the manual-winding Caliber 489, introduced in 1950.
