Mid-1960s | Automatic | Cal. 565 | Original Box
A beautifully preserved mid-1960s Omega Seamaster De Ville, crafted in solid 9-carat gold and powered by Omega’s renowned automatic Calibre 565 movement. Elegant, understated, and properly made — this is Omega dress-watch design at its peak.
Presented on a new brown leather strap and fitted with its original Omega gold buckle, this example also retains its original Omega presentation box, a rare and desirable bonus.
The clean silver dial is signed “Seamaster De Ville”, with elegant applied gold batons and matching gold hands. The date window is neatly framed — a genuinely useful complication that adds everyday practicality without spoiling the symmetry.
The solid gold case remains sharp and honest, with light age-appropriate wear only. No over-polishing, no nonsense — exactly how a vintage gold Omega should be.
Powered by the Omega Calibre 565, one of Omega’s most reliable and respected automatic movements of the era.
Robust, smooth-winding, and built to last — this is a proper workhorse dressed in gold.
While this watch is first and foremost a collectable vintage Omega, it’s worth putting the gold content into context valued around £1,000 just in scrap value.
At £1,495, you’re buying:
That’s proper value.
This is a classically proportioned, solid-gold Omega from the golden era of Swiss watchmaking. Elegant enough for formal wear, practical enough for daily use, and priced sensibly in today’s market.
You don’t see many solid 9ct Seamaster De Villes with box at this level anymore.
Price: £1,495
