1969 Omega Constellation

1969 Omega Constellation Chronometer – Rose Gold Plated – Cal. 564 – Boxed – £1,250

A very handsome late-60s Omega Constellation, and a bit classier than your usual vintage Omega because this is the Chronometer-rated version — the top of Omega’s range at the time. Back then, “Chronometer” wasn’t a marketing term. It meant the movement had been individually tested and certified for accuracy, and the 500-series chronometer calibres (like the 564 inside this one) were genuinely the best movements Omega was making. These were the watches they built their reputation on.

This example dates to 1969, powered by the Omega Calibre 564, a smooth automatic movement with quick-set date and that beautiful copper finish collectors love.

The case is the classic C-shape Constellation, which always wears bigger than the numbers suggest. It’s technically a 35mm case, but the broad, tonneau-style shoulders give it the wrist presence of a 37–38mm watch. On the wrist it looks modern enough without losing its vintage charm. The photos show it modelled on a 17.5cm wrist, and it suits small, medium or larger wrists without looking lost.

The colour combo really sets this one apart — rose gold plated case, white dial, and those rose gold hands and baton markers. It’s clean, elegant, and very “1960s Omega”. We’ve paired it with a high-quality navy strap from WatchGecko and a matching rose gold buckle. Both are aftermarket, but they complement the watch perfectly.

Mechanically it’s sound — the movement is clean, recently serviced, and ready to go. You also get the original oversized Omega presentation box (quite uncommon) and the loose vintage Omega tag.

No original papers, which is normal for a 1969 Omega Constellation, but everything visible on the watch itself is period-correct and authentic.
