A superb all-rounder from Bulova, this Swiss-made automatic watch combines classic styling with excellent specifications and a highly wearable 38mm case.

Reference C860440, the watch dates to approximately 2005, as indicated by the “A5” production code engraved on the case back.

The silver sunburst dial features applied baton hour markers, luminous hands, a sweeping seconds hand and a practical date display at 4:30. Its traditional styling makes it equally suitable for everyday, business or evening wear.

Inside is the respected Swiss ETA 2824-2 automatic movement. This proven 25-jewel calibre features automatic and manual winding, hacking seconds, a quick-set date and a high-beat frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

The watch is fitted with sapphire glass and a sapphire exhibition case back, allowing the mechanical movement to be viewed in operation. It was originally rated to 100 metres of water resistance, although this cannot be guaranteed without a fresh pressure test.

The stainless-steel bracelet is generously sized and should comfortably accommodate a larger wrist.

The watch is working well and is offered in good overall condition. It is not perfect and displays surface scratches and signs of previous wear across the case, bezel and bracelet.
