A superb example of the ever-popular Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000, dating back to 1973 and powered by the reliable Omega Calibre 1012 automatic self-winding movement. Reference 166.132, this model is becoming increasingly sought after thanks to its distinctive 1970s styling and unusually large proportions for the era. The calibre 1012 and reference 166.132 are correct for this model and period.
Often referred to as a “Jumbo” Cosmic 2000, the stainless steel case measures an impressive 39mm, making it wear remarkably modern compared to most vintage watches. If you’ve always admired vintage Omega watches but worried they might wear too small, this could be the perfect choice. With its generous case size, it sits beautifully on wrists from approximately 17.5cm and above, and will comfortably suit most small, medium and large wrist sizes.
This particular example presents in outstanding condition. The dial has been professionally refinished in a striking deep blue, giving the watch a fresh, contemporary appearance while remaining sympathetic to the period. It has also been fully serviced, so it’s ready to be worn and enjoyed.
The watch is paired with a new high-quality navy leather strap with a versatile 20mm lug width, meaning there are countless strap options should you wish to personalise it in the future. It is supplied with the Omega presentation box as pictured.
