The Rolex Submariner 16800 from 1982 is a significant model in the Submariner line, often referred to as the “transitional” Submariner. This model bridges vintage and modern Rolex features, making it popular among collectors.

The 16800 increased water resistance to 300 meters (1,000 feet), a notable improvement over previous models. However as this watch is in its vintage stage of its life water activity is not recommended.
