The Rolex Submariner 16610 is a highly esteemed model in the Rolex lineup, often praised for its blend of vintage aesthetics and modern functionality. Produced from 1988 until 2010, the 16610 is considered a benchmark in the Submariner series.The watch features a 40mm stainless steel case and a matching Oyster bracelet. The earlier models have drilled lug holes, making it easier to change the bracelet, while later versions (post-2000) feature solid end links and no lug holes, providing a sleeker appearance and improved durability.

The unidirectional rotating bezel is equipped with an aluminum insert, marked for 60 minutes with a luminous pearl at the zero marker for visibility in low-light conditions.

The watch uses a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens over the date for enhanced legibility.

The dial is glossy black with white text and features applied hour markers in white gold. The luminescent material evolved from tritium (marked as “SWISS – T<25”) to Luminova and eventually to Super-LumiNova, improving visibility in the dark.
